Since I've become *crunchy*, I've been shopping at our local co-op natural food store. It is a precious grocery store (with very high prices) but has some unique products that I use. (Most of our shopping is still at the normal grocery store, but I purchase all dairy and eggs here.) The store hosts monthly events and groups, including the Holistic Moms Group. A year ago, I wouldn't have even noticed this, but as of late, I found myself wondering about it, and decided to go.
I couldn't believe how nervous I was about attending! I kept wondering, "Am I "granola" enough for them?"
So I may not buy organic produce or refer to the Earth as "Mother". Perhaps my carbon footprint is not my motivation to embrace my inner-crunchiness. Maybe I'm "green", but it's cash green that motivates me! Still it turns out I fit right in!
(When did this happen? Seriously!)
It was a really fun evening! Most ladies had babies Abigail's age (or close to it) and she had a blast
I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone! As I was driving there I realized as I was driving home that all of my friends here are either military or from Church. That's not a bad thing at all- but this significantly broadened my horizons. I'm hoping this will be another opportunity to "Magnify the Lord"...all while making new friends and learning new tips!
This "holistic" Mom is signing off for the night! Have a great weekend!

Go crunchy mamma!!
Can't wait to hear about some of your "crunchy" experiences!
Good for you!
M and JP are Seriously emotionally abused ;)
They are WELL acquainted with the time out chair!
Crunch, crunch, I can hear the granola all the way in Syracuse! ;) Great job stepping out of the comfort zone, only to be welcomed in! So, my white creme donut snack today before my run reminded me why i SHOULD become more like you!---not a good, healthy or comfortable running snack ;)
I fear that I am too crunchy for a lot of my friends, yet not crunchy enough to going a holistic mom's group! I am stuck in the middle...which is a familiar place for me...
Ashley- are you taunting me? :) That sounds delicious!
Beth- careful who you mention that to, haha! :) Seriously...CRAZY!
Julie- LOL! I know just what you mean. The nice thing abuot this group is that everyone was on the spectrum. Some vaccinated...and the leader admitted her addiction to bleach! LOL! She even wore a bleach stained shirt! :)
That sounds so great! I'm moving to a new place and I've been trying to think of ways to meet people... I definitely wouldn't have thought of that!
Mary Elizabeth! Can you send me your email address? I am SO praying for you!!!
