I am on a mission:
Phase one: Get rid of clothes and shoes that don't fit me, don't flatter me, or are out of style.
Phase two: Get clothes and shoes that DO fit me, flatter me and are fashionable! (Phase two to take place in a couple of weeks!)
The problem is, I'm really bad at knowing these things. One of my favorite things about living with Lisa was when I would complain, "I have nothing to wear." She would whirl into my closet, throw several things together and create fabulous outfits. "Really? You can wear that with that???", my untrained self would ask incredulously? Lisa would smile and assure me that yes, yes you can...and should!
I miss that. So here's where you come in. Can you help me with shoes? I actually tossed a grocery sack's worth of shoes just taking these pictures. (I knew they'd get the boot...haha.) Here is every shoe in my closet. What to keep? What to toss? What to add?

Shoes! My favorite! I won't tell you how many are in my closet. I should be embarrassed. And what's sad is that after MG was born I threw out a bunch. :)
Okidokie, here is what I think...
Picture 1:
A) could be cute with the right jeans and a cute semi dressy top. Maybe for a casual date night sort if thing. I wouldn't wear them with a dress though.
B) LOVE!!!!
C) Every girl needs a pair of black pumps!
D) and F) I think can go. I think you're too you g for them. ;)
E) Good for summer dresses.
Picture 2:
A) and C) definitely keep.
B) I think if you keep A you won't need these but I can't see the toe of them so I could be wrong.
D) They look cozy but they remind me of slippers.
Picture 3:
A) Cute with jeans.
B) and C) are not my favorite.
D) Keep. You need something casual.
I think you need some cute wedges! Maybe some shoes in some fun colors. You can really make a plain outfit pop with some color. I also think you would be adorable in some brown knee high boots with jeans tucked in. You have the perfect shape for it! I saw some adorable ones online the other day that were actually a pretty good price. I can send you a link if you like. :)
I am on this exact same mission right now! When I'm up at night I'm scouring Betty Beguiles' for ideas and Overstock for deals:)
Picture 1: I like B, C, and E (especially the peep toes!). I don't like slingbacks for myself because I think they're uncomfortable (this is why I find dressing fashionably so hard because I value comfort so much!) and F is definitely a little too mature:)
Picture 2: I am heartily in favor of boots in general. I'm on the lookout for the perfect pair of brown knee-highs myself. I'm not really sure how to wear ankle boots though.
Picture 3: I'm not so sure about A, but I like the rest of them. C would look really cute with a casual skirt and top. Actually this goes for B as well. I really like that style of shoe.
Good luck! I look forward to seeing what you get for Phase 2!
Get the full wardrobe package from Betty Beguiles...I am also a lousy shopper and no good at knowing what looks good on me...I do have a very fashionable mom and sisters though, who have been telling me to get "skinny jeans" forever and when I finally did just a month ago ( thank you Ukraine-induced weight loss) I have gotten a TON of compliments...
So My 12 yo daughter and I are doing the same closet cleaning this week...
Of couse she needs to do it about every 3 months since she is growing like a weed ( is currently 5'7" and wears a size 9 shoe)!
Seriously, treat yourself to Betty's expertise and do a little Internet shopping ( so much easier than dragging a baby from store to store)...
Hugs, Carla

I've always wondered about Shoe C in picture 3. Do you wear socks with those?
I would love some casual quick sneaker-type shoes that aren't cross trainers to wear with jeans. I have been tempted to grab those cute Mary Jane-type sneakers but I am not sure if you are supposed to wear socks with them. Anyone?
I agree with Karen's feedback for Picture 1. LOVE those peep toes!
Now, after reading about how black really isn't a neutral but an intense, cool, bright (and my coloring doesn't work well with intense or cool), I am currently on a mission to replace my (tons) of black shoes with gray and brown and some fun colors. But you're a cool, so I am going to give thumbs up to the black pumps and peep toes. Also vote to nix D and F.
Regarding boots - I looove boots. I say keep. The last pair do look like slippers though. Perhaps replace with a taller, suede casual boot with a fun fur-like accent. Those would be fun with jeans.
Picture 3 - I actually used to own a pair similar to C and loved them. I wore them with jeans mostly. They look casual to me, but a step up from tennis shoes.
What to add: Agree with the suggestion of wedges or fun colors. I have found cranberry-colored shoes can look great with almost any outfit, especially if you like to wear neutrals. :)
I am currently in a wardrobe crisis myself. You are actually in WAY better shape than me though!
At least you can wear heels! I cannot !!!
Ahh ... sometimes I just wanna toss it all and start over, like on "what not to wear." I wish I wasn't so cheap when it comes to buying clothes. And yet I want to look attractive for my husband and family. Sigh. Can someone please nominate me?
Sorry I am no help:(
OK y'all are AWESOME!!!!!
Picture 1: D and F are OUT OF HERE! See ya!
Karen- curious about why not flats with a dress or skirt. I thought their low vat made them work- even though I have shorter legs.
Boots- I'll get rid of D- or just wear them at home. They were a gift last Christmas and I couldn't tell.
Maria- I'm totally with you! Do you wear socks with shoe C in pic 3??? I hate not wearing socks- but what color would you wear? Eva says wear them with a casual skirt and shirt. (Thanks, Eva!) I'll have to try that, though I wonder if the strap will cut the line and make my legs look shorter.
Carla- I went on her website and started getting really excited about the prospect (something I"d never considered!) BUT then I realized- do the clothes cost ON TOP of the fee or are they included? If they're included- sign me up! If it's on top- I'm having a heart-attack!!! :) I'd love to see what she picked out for you!!!!
Sarah- cranberry?! THat sounds like fun AND not TOO colorful! :) I love it!
I've never considered wearing wedges before. What do I look for now that fall is here? Also- I'd like to get more into ballet flats.
Y'all are so helpful! It was super fun to read your comments!!
LOL roomie-- the cost of the clothes is ON TOP of her fee. I was actually thinking a few weeks ago that I should suggest that J and your parents go in on a 2012 "wardrobe revamp" for you for Christmas, by purchasing you Betty Beguiles' expertise and then giving you some cash to go shopping at the after-Christmas sales!
I looked at the Betty site too. I was overwhelmed by the price.
Lauren, I have a sitter every Wednesday for Claire. Let's go shopping together! I can hold Abigail while you try things on.
Love this post! You're too funny. I'm working on sending you a ton of links. I hate to be too honest, but the only ones that are really good are the peep toes. The black flats are okay and necessary in every wardrobe- you know I'm a huge fan of the black flats. :) The pointy toe pump look a little out of style. Round toe seems to be more common right now with a chunky heel. The boots are okay, but the heel style makes them look a bit dated.
shoes aren't my thing...I wear the same ones over and over! Glad you are getting good help!
You are hilarious for posting this!! OK - I can do this for you for free. I actually do it for my friend Sally! But for the record, you always look cute! I won't comment on the shoes - looks like you've already got that covered.
As for the sneakers Maria mentioned. You are looking for "fashion sneakers" (vice running shoes, etc). I have a few in various brands - love with a velor 2 piece jog suit in the winter or jeans all year round. Some good ones to look for -
Puma, Guess, and spendy-but-trendy Coach. I just got a pair of the Coach ones from my mom for my birthday and she got them on a great sale ~$40 at Macy's! (they are usually $100). Just to give you an idea on the colors, I have black, gold, green, purple and the old Gator-combo orange-and-blue!!
I personally think also that metalics are really fun neutrals - pewter, bronze and gold! You can wear all year round. Wedges, pumps and sandals all look great in metalics!
Don't worry Lauren, we'll shop!
