Today was the big day for my radio interview! I felt fancy going to the studio and having my own microphone. Turns out, a microphone is much more intimidating than a phone! When I spoke to Gus on the Gus Lloyd Show, I forgot I was on the radio and felt like I was speaking to a friend. But there's no mistaking that you're on the radio when you're in the studio!
Still, I liked the mike! Unfortunately I didn't understand the format of the show and so was not clear when telling others about the opportunity to hear me. Local Catholic radio stations are having their spring fund-raisers, and to help them ETWN promotes the local stations with special guests. Therefore the hour was divided between the national office and local office. The *big-name* speaker (what, that's not little ol' me?! :)) had the first twenty minutes and I had ten. Then they had ten and we had twenty. So when people tried to listen and heard ETWN they thought I wasn't going to be on the air and turned the station. Then in the middle of my last segment, the station lost its signal and we got cut off. Double rats!
But it was a great opportunity and loads of fun. Abigail enjoyed it, too! Special thank you to my neighbor, Jenny, who got up early and entertained Abigail during our time live on the air! You're the best, Jenny!
