Oh, Calm Down!

After living with Lisa for three years, I kind of got attached! We got married within two weeks of each other. I moved three hours north and she moved three hours south. Since then, I have never been south to see her home. To me, seeing someone's home and experiencing their daily life is so important to understand someone. I've felt a little out-of-touch with Lisa ever since, no matter how often we talk! I've been dying to get down and see their new home and her as a wife and a mom. I'm so glad I had the chance to go spend a few days with her. Here we are at her wedding. She's so beautiful!!!

And here I am with her daughter, my God-daughter, Clare. Clare is such a sweet, loving girl. She warmed up to me in minutes and would come running over to give me a giant hug and kiss. She kisses the characters in books, her animals, and toys. She is just the sweetest thing I've ever seen. While Lisa and I were talking, Clare was trying to get her Mom's attention and made a tiny little noise, "eh". "Oh, calm down." Lisa responded. I died laughing. Are you kidding me? Calm down?! Lisa's being spoiled rotten with this one. I've predicted the boy she's having in November is going to be a terror! :)

Clare LOVES accessories and frequently dons boas, jewelry, purses, hats, socks and shoes. She has the most beautiful eyes, I've ever seen!!!

Look at how she crosses her ankles!!

OK, hold on... to defend the "calm down" comment, we've been trying to teach Clare patience and waiting her turn. She's about to have a sibling, and whining isn't the way to get attention. It was more than an "eh" anyway... it was heading to full-on whining, which sometimes leads to scratching, which leads to discipline, which I would rather just cut out at the get-go if possible. We are trying not to raise a "twitchy" child, who has to get her way by complaining!
