Since the initial "bailout" in 2008, I've been more clued into politics and economics. Knowing the bailout seemed so, so, so wrong, I began learning about different schools of economics- Keynesian vs. Austrian. This has led me to a more libertarian point of view, and given me the ability to think more objectively about the Republican party and third party candidates. I still respect and support the Republican platform, but feel they have had multiple opportunities to carry it out and yet we've gotten more of the same big government. I'm tired of big government. We have to live under the laws, pay our taxes, balance our budgets, and live
responsibly. Isn't it time the politicians do the same? Instead they allow special interest groups to write the bill, don't bother reading it, then rush it through and sign it into law. It's ludicrous. Our country's debt is unsustainable and will ruin us if it continues.
Glenn Beck has been following and investigating our federal government. Six months ago, he challenged his viewers to participate in the 9/12 project. He reasoned that on September 12, 2001, our country was changed for the better. We were unified and Americans. We would stand up and fight. He noted nine principles and twelve values and encouraged those who held the same ideals to join together and do something. So this past Saturday, Stephen and I drove down to Fort Worth to join in the 9/12 project.

We heard Judge Andrew
Napolitano from Fox News. I listen to him daily on the Brian and the Judge show. He is a true libertarian and challenges my line of thinking. "Question: how did the King know whether colonists had stamps on every paper product? Answer: They had the Writ of
habeas corpus, which allowed them to write their own search warrants." He used this argument against the Patriot Act.
Next was Pastor Stephen Broden, who was AWESOME! He's a dynamic speaker and got the crowd excited. He addressed the problem with black babies being aborted. Fifty percent of babies with darker skin are aborted. Ninety percent in D.C. It's genocide.
A bonus was at the end: they challenged all to participate in the primaries and had a few candidates who would be running in 2010. One of these candidates was Debra Medina who is running for Governor of Texas as a Republican. We've been following her for a while and really like her. It was exciting to see her!

Overall it was a very patriotic event and full of people who love their country.

Here's a sample of the signs:
