Sweet Celebrations!

So there's good news and bad news...

The agency needs a couple of days to review their policy on posting pictures on-line.  I guess I'm the first to push the issue???   Sigh...  They're checking on it.  My social worker told me to tell my "stalkers" to hang in there!  :)

Fifteen months ago I made a cake to celebrate turning in our application to our first (and initially only) agency.  We had not begun the home study yet, but it felt like such a huge step- especially with a huge check attached.

Today I made a cake to celebrate Abigail and TPR!  Y'all- I'm really proud of this.  I don't make pretty cakes. I make yummy cakes- but not pretty cakes!  But check it out!  We will have fun celebrating tonight!

It's chocolate with buttercream frosting.  BUT...not just any buttercream frosting.  You whisk four eggs, a cup of sugar and a tablespoon of vanilla in a double broiler over simmering water 'til it reaches 160 degrees.  Then you beat it until it's light and fluffy.  Then you add FOUR STICKS of BUTTER- two tablespoons at a time.  Oh my.  Heaven.  I felt like a professional baker making it!  :)

Wish you were here to help us celebrate!!!

I can almost taste that butter from here! I might have to put a candle in my chocolate chip cornbread (better than it sounds, trust me) to celebrate with you! I'm so thrilled for you and just delighted about your newfound freedom. Congratulations, and three cheers for your amazing cake!

That is terrific! I know you'll be able to post pics soon...maybe after court? Or do you still have to go? Not sure what the process is for you. Congratulations and yes, we are dying to see her...as cute as the back of her head and red hearts are!
