8 Months Old!

My baby is 8 months old already!  It has been a month of major developments.   She is crawling and, oh my goodness, into everything!  She must have been scoping out the place  for the last few months, finding nooks and crannies that she wanted to investigate, because this girl is on a mission!  Our cat has survived, thus far, but is not too happy with this mobility-thing.  See below...  Watch the whole thing.  I promise it's worth it!

She went straight from crawling to pulling up on everything.  She's clapping, waving, and raising her arms for "SO BIG!"  We must have been a little too excited and over-zealous with celebrating "SO BIG" because now she briefly raises her arms, then immediately begins clapping for herself!  :)
Hey Mommy!  I'm not sleepy!
She can understand certain words and phrases now, too.  If I say, "Shake it!" she shakes her head back and forth.   If I say  "head...", she'll lean forward to "bump" my head.  She looks around when she hears us say "Maggie".  She adores Maggie.  And she's saying "MAMA!"  I don't think she fully understands it yet, but she likes the reaction she gets when she says it!  It sounds so sweet on her lips.
Cute skirt my brother's girlfriend made!  Thanks, Mere!
Now that eight months is here, we're expanding her menu a bit to more greens and some fruit.  So far she has totally rejected apple sauce.  She loves to chew on apples, but now that she has teeth, we've had some close calls with biting off chunks.  You'd think she likes apple sauce, but nope.  She totally gags on it. We'll keep trying.   ;)
We love to swing at the park across the street!
She's so much more playful now!  She loves to hug her dolls and look at books.  Chewing puzzles and little people are her favorite things!
I'm so in love!
Poor baby girl got hit with a double whammy this week.  Her two top front teeth started coming through on Monday AND she got a virus with no symptoms but a fever.  I would have thought the fever was teething-oriented, but it was high for three days and then she broke out in that post-virus rash.   She's in a lot of pain with these teeth and her appetite is quite decreased.  It's breaking my heart!

She's growing like a weed: 23.5 lbs at 8 months!  I had to order size 18 month clothing this week! She is solid and strong.  I pray her spirit and faith are strong as well!

Can't wait to see what the next month will bring!  We love you, Abigail!

So sweet! I love all the pictures! She is getting so big.

She seems so advanced with gross motor. Bella didn't crawl (on hands and knees) until 10 months and started pulling up at the same time too. Not sure what I would have done with a crawling 8 month old!! Ha ha!

I meant to offer you some new-in-box baby gates at Easter. We have a bunch since we lived in a 3-story house before we moved here. Do you want some?

Oh my goodness, I love all of this! What a darling girl!! I watched that video over and over--that little giggle at the end is addictive! I cannot wait to hear Conley say "mama!" Must be music to your ears. (One thing I could have waited for--the dr just told us at his 2 month appt that it looks like he's cutting his first tooth--noooo!)

She's so precious, Lauren. :)
