Happy half birthday to me!!
Do I sound like a 4 year old? :)
Here's the thing. When I was a little girl, I would start anticipated my half-birthday starting from about August 1. Then I'd suddenly realize it was September 10 (or so) and I had completely missed it! Year after year, I'd look forward to, and then completely miss, my half-birthday. So as an adult, I still smile on the day- hoping to sort of retroactively celebrate. It's the kid in me. :) (And no- I didn't myself a cake. Clever cake, though, huh? Thanks Google Images! If you look closely, you'll see it says Happy 1/2 Birthday, Blake. Huh. Happy 1/2 birthday, Blake!)
Last night, I was laying in bed and hoping baby girl will be born tomorrow. Ever since Ashley pointed out in a comment that September 8 is the birthday of our blessed Mother, I've been hoping for September 8. (Side note- how did I not know that about Mary! It makes sense- 9 months after her conception. Can anyone tell me more about this?)
Then suddenly I realized, WOAH! My half birthday is the Blessed Mother's real birthday! And HER half-birthday :) is MY real birthday!
And that made me smile.
So COME on baby girl! Today's a neat link with two of your Mamas!! :)

Happy half birthday!
I can't believe I never realized it either about Mary... but you're right, it's 9 months after the Immaculate Conception feast. (Fr Mike just reminded me in a comment!)
Happy Birthday, Blessed Mother, and happy half-birthday, Lauren, and happy BIRTH day, we hope, baby girl!!
Pulling for her to come today!!!
Oh I am waiting on pins and needles, I can't imagine how you are feeling right about now!
This makes me smile.
Shoot, now I feel bad b/c Rebekah was SO excited about celebrating her half-birthday this year and that came about 1 week after we moved out of Pensacola - so guess what? We never got to celebrate it! Bummer - next year, right?!
Come on baby girl!!!!
Happy Half-birthday!!
I just learned of this Marian celebration when I read this post.

Hoping it becomes someone else's birthday too!!
Very cool--the fact that your half is her actual and vice versa. This definitely would be an appropriate day for baby girl to come. Praying for you. Still waiting on that phone call. ;D
Happy 1/2 birthday!
We have an uncle who celebrates his half birthday every year. His real birthday is Christmas Eve. Ever since he was little, he has had his party in June. They serve 1/2 cake and 1/2 burgers...you get the idea. It so fun, but I've never thought about my own 1/2 birthday. Pretty cool that yours ties in with the Blessed Mother. (I'm a bit jealous)
C'mon baby girl! What's the hold up?
Thinking of you today and offering up prayers for baby girl!!
That would be a great b'day for baby girl!!!
LOL, I celebrate my 1/2 bday as well! (September 20th)
Thinking good thoughts for you and your husband!
I'm right there with you! I always took my half birthday very seriously, being a summer girl (and the fact that our school announced it :-). Fun fun fun!! Come on, baby girl!
Happy Half Birthday! Before even reading this post, I was thinking and praying that your baby girl be born today because of the feast of Our Lady. Now, I am praying extra prayers so she shares a half birthday with her mama!
Side note: Bella's birth mother and I share the same birthday (12 years apart).
happy half birthday too!
What a great day for a half birthday!! And, for a literal birth day!! :) Praying!
Feliz cumpleanos to you on your half birthday and what an amazing woman to share that half day with too!!
Happy half birthday! :) Praying for you and J, baby girl, and the birth mother! Come on, baby girl!
I've been wondering how everything was going with baby girl! I hope today is THE day!
This makes me smile too. Happy 1/2 Birthday! :)
I just realized I can't HAVE a half birthday. My birthday is March 31 and September only has 30 days.
Waaaaah!
AKA the Mom- love the 1/2 burger idea!!! You could really have fun with that!
Julie- that's so cool! What an awesome connection!
Maria- that is so sad!!!! It never occured to me that that could happen!
Happy half birthday to you! Come ON BABY GIRL! Come home to mama!
My oldest LOVES her Half-birthday! Because her birthday is in the summer...so she takes treats to school on her half-birthday to celebrate with her class.
almost 2 years ago, she had another reason to love her half-birthday. Her baby brother was born on her half-birthday! So she is exactly 7.5 years older than her baby brother! I am sure as he gets older he will love having his half-birthday on his oldest sister's birthday.
Aren't half-birthdays fun? My 2nd daughter can't have a half-birthday either, Maria...her birhtday is August 31 and February only has 28 or 29 days.
Wow!
What an amazing thing! Wow, triple wow. I think we will all be looking up our half birthdays now.
I mentioned this once before, but because I am adopted I never thought much about my birthday being the day somebody gave birth to me. I think it is important to talk about this to one's adopted child. Make it an opportunity to reflect and celebrate life!
Happy 1/2 birthday to you. Many more!!!!
I always celebrated my half birthday at school-because my birthday was in the summer. Happy 1/2 birthday!
Blessed Mother, hear our prayers! There's still 4.5 hours left in the day Lauren!.....and happy half-birthday to you!!! Praying for you!
